1655 3 speed hydro into 1850 2 speed

Can this be done as a bolt on project. I'm guessing it's not that simple. But I'm hoping??

As J. said the 1655 uses a smaller input shaft and a different bell housing then an 1850. So you would have to have an input shaft from a 1750 on up. Plus you would have to use the cooler for the o/u and hydraulics from the 1655. I believe the bell housing from the 1850 will bolt onto the 1655 o/u.
 
There were also changes in the clutch plates and the ones in the unit may not fit the imput shaft + you will need to remove the shift linkage and change it. The coolers will need to be changed unless it is a late 2 speed. It has been 40 years since I worked for the Oliver dealer and you forget some things.
