Thought I would post a picture of my 990. This old tractor hung around near the plant in Charles City for many, many years. The fellow who owned it before me was named Ruben Weins, if I remember correctly. Some of the Charles City folks may remember him. He ran the shipping and trucking facility that shipped large numbers of Oliver and White tractors from the factory.
As I recall, he found this tractor on a "peat farm" up in Minnesota or N. Dakota. He had memories of sending new 990's up to Fargo ND.
It's not a bad old tractor. I have done some work to it ( and it needs some more ) but have never touched the 3-71. It runs and pulls pretty good, drips oil, wet stacks, makes plenty of noise and air pollution, and is just politically incorrect for modern times - what's not to like ??!!.
