From the 'plant' archives at the Floyd County Museum in Charles City, IA 1958-1961. The Oliver 990-Oliver largest tractor, at the time, was originally manufactured in South Bend, IN, in 1959 the production was transferred to Charles City IA.

Sure wish I could go back in time with cash and buy all of those that I could have bought for a song in Archbold.

That's a 950 with a 990 decal I believe. Not trying to hijack your post but here is a 990. I really love all the old pictures you post.

Never get tired of seeing pics of your 990 Larry, what a great piece of artwork. Can you imagine what the factory guys would have said if you could go back and drive that thing up to the factory and park it next to the others coming off the line! They'd have fired their whole paint department on the spot.

Back in the early 70's my uncle and I would go to Yoder & Frey's auction in Archibald a couple of times a winter. Once we saw a 77 not running and all rusty come into the building being towed. They could not get a bid. Finally the auctioneer asked "who will give $77 for the 77?" That's what it sold for. I to would like to go back to those days and spend the money I should have.

I think back then you could have bought every 990 and 950 that came through there for under a thousand dollars.

I bought a beautiful 1951 77 there in 1969. Think about that,an 18 year old tractor, that's like buying a 1999 today. I gave $550 and drove it all the way home 150 miles.

This is an original slide from Oliver. I'm
wondering if it was a prototype like the '53
99? Definitely looks like a 950 but decals
show 990. I believe more information is
coming next week on this slide as I asked
for more off of the Oliver Facebook page. If
this is truly a 990 prototype it would be
possibly very rare but definitely cool to
have!
