White 1170 On A 1600?

Looking at a pretty decent White 1170 loader. Everything we have found is saying that it was made for the American 60 and 80 tractors and doesnt mention it fitting anything else. Cant imagine it would take much if anything to modify the brackets to fit it on a 1600. Anybody ever done it or seen it done?

oliverkid, All I have are a couple pics of my bushhog loader brackets on the American 60. I could give you some measurements but my tractor was just picked up yesterday to get some work done to it. As you can see the American is shorter and fatter than your 1600.

We knew that Cummins tub would be fatter. Biggest thing we were concerned about was the length and reaching over the front axle. We have a full machine shop so modifying the brackets to work right shouldnt be an issue as long as it will still physically fit on the tractor. Looking at the pictures it does appear that the distance from the ground to the frame pads, youre American is a little shorter but looking at the ground clearance it cant be by a whole heck of a lot. Looking at pictures of 1170's mounted on Americans it looks to be a little bit bigger than your Bush Hog and mounts just a shade bit different as well. I guess dimensions to the centers of the front and rear mounting pads from the front flange on the frame tub would give me the best idea. Near as we can tell there is only a 3 inch difference from the front of the frame to the center of the rear pad on a 60/80 and a 1600 (a 1600 being 57 3/4 inches) we just dont have an American close by to confirm that against. Width is easy to work with.

oliverkid, It figures I have a 1555 and could of compared the two. As you can see the Bushhog brackets are nothing special. When I ordered them from Bushog they said they were the last ones on the shelf! Loader I have was originally on a 2030 John Deere. I could nose my 1555 into the loader tomorrow and see what it looks like if you want.

Dont want to put ya out but I appreciate the offer, dont go out of your way to get it done though. I have some other feelers out as well. I just have to come up with a semi solid answer by next weekend so we can either go get the thing or tell the guy we are gonna pass.

oliverkid, Do you go on FB oliver site? I know there are a couple White American owners that might be able to help measure.

Never got into the whole facebook thing. Watched all the drama it caused in high school and college and that turned me off of it. LOL

You just need a measurement from front mounting pad to the side frame holes on the White American? I might get over to my tractor this weekend.

Yea, and really just from the nose pad to the center of the hole spread on the rear side pads will do it. The front side pads arent used on the 1170 so that measurement doesnt really matter.

And, I guess the height from the ground to the center of the front and side mounting pads would be useful to.

Well if I don't get it for you someone will! I looked at images of the 1170 loader and I would think you can make it fit. I helped stuff a $400 dollar Woods loader on a Same tractor. Wasn't pretty but it worked. Anvils had better treatment than that tractor.lol

Ive got a loader I just took off of a 1555 that is a quick tatch that I'm pretty sure will bolt right on to your tractor. No modifications required, have all frame work and brackets. Not a single weld on it. No joystick, plugs into your tractors SCV's. Let me know if interested.
