does anyone know what the factory timing was for the 310 diesel in an 1855 , one book i have shows TDC the other 4 deg. adv. , what have you guys found that works the best , also has anyone done the math for the degs. on flywheel , i come up with about .125 per deg. ( im guessing around 14 across the flywheel) - thanks to anyone who can help

thank you for the reply , wonder why the changed timing, the 1955 has the same engine it show 4 deg. advance or did the update that too? would it hurt to run 4 advance ? im sure it would run better with some advance

A 1955 should be TDC as well. I don't remember why the change for sure. It may have had something to do with rod issues. I'll dig the bulletin out later.

thanks again , i would be greatly interested in reading that bulletin , is there a web site that has all the updated bulletins posted or is that something guys have just hung onto all these years? I did reset my timing to TDC ,maybe just a hair advanced but at most 1 deg. so it should be just fine , at this point this will probably just be a show piece / play toy , may do work on a play around basis.
