2 Waukesha Diesel engines for sale

Well I've been doing some spring cleaning and decided to get rid of
some of my Oliver stuff. I have 2 disassembled engines I want to sell.

First is a 310 Waukesha Diesel. It is NOT an oil cooler block. The
engine is ready to go back together just needs a overhaul kit and a
few other things. I have pictures that I can email or text to anyone
interested:. I'd say the engine is over 90% there. Won't really know
what's missing until you put it back together. Asking $3000

Second engine is a 283 direct injection Waukesha Diesel. It's gonna
need a little more work to get going but should be a good project
motor for someone with more time, money, and knowledge than
myself. I'd say it's has 75% of he parts to put it back together. Block
will need to me cleaned milled before rebuilding. Asking $2500

I will not part the engines out. You are buying the whole unit. No
shipping is available either. May consider delivery depending on
location. Selling as is condition. Like I said i can email or text pictures
of each motor.

That is pretty steep for a pile of parts when a person does not know if the cranks and blocks are not straight.I spent 1400.00 on a block one year ago for counter bore inserts and deck the block.Scott

The block and head have been milled on the 310. Counter bore has been recut to specs. Crank has been ground.

The 383 will need the most work.

If you think the price is high trying pricing just the head, block, crank and camshaft. You'll be over what I'm asking

Still standing by my word as you do not know if the crank has been magged for cracks, checked for straightness and has been checked to see if it can be reground. Scott

So was the head checked for cracks/ magnafluxed ? Valves done ? There is still a lot of work to be done. Add the price of an overhaul kit. Bought a really nice original 1755 with that same engine 6 years ago. Original paint with cab and decent tires. Runs great and paid 5500 for it. A complete tractor we have used haying since with no issues. If you figure what you want and getting the engine done someone could buy a decent running WHOLE tractor. Have a 1650, 1750 with charger(oil cooler block) and the 1755. Also have an 88 puller which I put the engine together. I know what stuff costs and you are overpriced.

Yes the head and block were checked for cracks. I don't know what you buying a tractor has anything to do with it because I've seen tractors like you're describing go for 4400-8000, sounds like you got a good deal on it. So if you took out the engine of your tractor you're telling me the whole rest of the tractor is with 2000? I don't think so. Whole tractors and individual usable parts have different price values. Obviously you're not interesting in buying so I don't know why it matters so much to you. I think 3000 is a fair starting point since I've seen running 310s go for 3500-4200.

I don't care what the buyer does with it. They can put it back together or part it out and easily make there money back. I just don't have a use for either engine and I'm personally not a fan of parting out engines that are still usable. I thought it could go to someone who might need/want it. Those engine aren't that easy to come buy which is another factor to consider. Supply and demand.

I'm not here to upset anyone. Just share a love for olivers like the next guy.

No I am not telling you that if I took the engine out it would be worth 2000. You are the one telling me the engine is worth 3000. What I am saying is you can get a good running tractor WHOLE for a little more than you are asking for an engine, no granted the engine won't be rebuilt be neither is yours. But you get a whole tractor. All you are trying to sell is an engine with so of the work done. Still needs a lot. You even said it may only be 90 percent complete as it is.

are the rods redone w/ one piece bushings? are the lower bores good , probably not most arn't after all these years , just had my block & rods done at shop you could watch the money fly out of my pocket when i payed that bill. At a quick guess i got over 4K in my 100% overhaul ( shop bill & complete kit)- rebuilt the head myself , & crank was good as is , engine ran but blown head gasket brought on overhaul, if i had to do it all over i would have repowered with cummins , been cheaper in the end , more power , & easier to get parts for . my tractor in good condition cost me $5500 w/ 80% radial tires & bolt on duals ,5 years ago ---- better adjust the price of them parts engines

The rods have been updated with the newer bolts and yes they come with the one piece wrist pin pushing. Not installed though.

i don't want to burst anybody bubble or upset but as of couple weeks ago they had wauk310 engine complete on pallet. it was just taken out tractor they said. when i walked past they still were trying to get $800.00 no nothing other than that. what it actually brought do not know but sure did not apear like they were going to get $800.00. just putting that out there.

Well everyone is entitled to their opinions and if none of your are really interested in purchasing either motor then I'd kindly ask you to stop wasting my time. Now if anyone is seriously interested in one or both motors then we can continue the conversations and I'm open to hearing reasonable offers. They don't have to sell. I was just doing some cleaning and thought I'd see if anyone would be interested in them. Thank you.

As far as the question on the 310 crankshaft, it has already been ground to .030 on the mains and .020 on the rods. Not 100% but I believe it was checked for cracks since they did grind on it. It was done prior to my purchasing of the engine.
