Oliver 88 sidewalk snowplow

I already posted this over on the Farmall/IHC forum. But I thought it might be of interest here too as an Oliver Super 88 appears in a couple of the scenes.

Anyway below is a link to a short video I shot while plowing sidewalks in Rochester NY during a particularly heavy snow storm last week. Besides the Oliver the plowing contractor operates about 18 plow outfits, mostly Farmall H, M, 400, 450 and 460's.

All the tractors are modified by moving the rear wheels in and cutting off the excess axle length to make them sidewalk width. They are then fitted custom-fabricated V-plows and tire chains. Tractors are also ballasted to about 10,000 lb and heat housers added to give at least a bit of comfort to the operators.

I read an article that said the S88 used axle housings and axles from the left side of an Oliver self-propelled combine. They fit right on, since the transmission housings of both were basically the same.
