Looking at some 1550 olivers for sale ran across this one in texas. The interesting part is the drive sprocket on the rear axle I've seen them for planters but wouldn't think it be on a tractor of this age.

Those axles do look small but the fenders are all the way in and hubs are reversed . It's definitely different and probably has an interesting story to tell

I've seen them on older tractors but i thought that idea had gone out of fashion after 1965. It would have been a nice collector piece.

To answer the second part of your question we had a 1555 in the shop and the cover looked like new and one of the 1550 tractors we sold does not have a broken cover. Also remember if the tractor has a dual speed PTO it will not have that cover.

The cover has never been broken on my 1550 or 1600. It happens when the center link drops down.

My 1650 never was broke and 1550 is the same i usually take it off when not used and if its on i chain it just in case and now that i said that i know whats going to happen tomorrow.
