three point arms wont go down very far , they worked fine 3 years ago , my question is can the internal rod that pushes on shaft come out of the piston & ride in the bore causing it to not drop to the ground ? i did lift the arms by hand when rebuilding tractor.

No. The bore in the cylinder is tapered so the rod always drops in to the socket. Most likely your linkage to the lever is out of adjustment. Mine was stuck in the up position on the 2-105. When I pulled the steam engine on to the drop deck I was hooked to the three point. I tried to let it down so it wasn't trying to raise the front of the tractor. It took some hard pulling for it to pop loose and come down. The one on the 1365 was stuck at the top one time and I had to put the loader on the 1600 on that and use the down pressure to get it down.

i should add this tractor is not yet been run , all hyd oil is currently drained , but id think the 3-point should still drop to the ground , i know it locks its self to hold pressure when not running but always would drop down to to ground if id push lever into down position , when i lifted it by hand you could hear like a metal klick when i did so , ive jumped on it some & picked up on arms and dropped them & still wont move down , it just seems like pin wont go into piston , if i have to take the lid off now would be the time before everything is back together , also i know someone was in there at one time gasket is siliconed on & if its like everything els that was repaired it scares me , because who ever did the work didnt know a darn thing , for exsample pto clutch pack had to many disks caused $1200 worth of damage , engine had a non turbo liner in it causing head gasket to blow cost a complete overhaul there. by looking at the parts manual id agree the pin would have to drop in piston , just dont want to brake anything this restore already cost enough , thanks for the help

its been 3 years since its ran , but i thought they will without it running , they worked properly befor it needed engine work & thought they did drop if you move lever to down , i do remember they held there selves up for three years so hyd lock works well , guess i have to make the call to open lid & check it out or wait till it runs in a couple weeks & chance having to open it up after its been nicely painted & cleared

Four digit Olivers will not let the three point down without the engine running. The servo valve requires hyd pressure to unseat the lowering valve. Same way with the remotes unless you have a float valve.
