2-105 engine swap

Replacing the Perkins 354 with a 372 out of a Massey combine. I have gathered information from this site for the swap but have a question about the dampener on the 372. The 354 out of the White doesn't have a dampener like that of the 372. Do I leave it as is or should I replace everything with the items off the 354? It's a fairly good sized dampener on the 372.
 
What is the RPM of the 372 engine? Are you going to turbo the 372? Let me guess the 372 was cheap!. The 372 was strictly a combine engine!
 
I parted out a Massey combine so I had this engine. Thought I'd put it in an 1850 but got this 2-105 with a bad engine and..... It won't be turboed. I have to look in my combine manual to see what the RPM is.
 
id say use the damper for that engine. not sure why it would matter its out of a combine , as long as the HP / RPM rang is right for the tractor , know lots of guys who put JD engines out of combines in JD tractors
 
I wish the one I took out of an 8700 White ran a little faster. I put it in my 1850. It runs about 2050 according to the tach on the tractor. A little slow on the PTO,but usable.
 
8600 and 8800 Perkins should run 2730 high idle by the spec cards I have, not sure what the 8700 Perkins should be. BLMC 6/98 engine in 8700 shows 2380 high idle.
 
How do I adjust it without making a mess of something? Always been gonna try,but I figured it was best to think if it ain't broke,don't fix it.
 
I have put a 372 in a 105 out of a 750 combine.You have to change water pump,pan,enternal oiling tubes pump,filter from one side to other side.Need to go to a dealer that has parts break down to see what I am saying.I was able to use turbo off of 105 plus bore new holes in the intake manifold to make it work.
 
Try backing out the high limit stop screw for the pump throttle lever, if that helps then adjust the hand throttle if needed so the lever hits the stop screw just before the hand lever stops. May need the internal governor spring replaced if it does not help.
