1850 Right side axle jerks when first moved

I've noticed when I start up and move my 1850 after it sits for a few weeks it will act like it is froze to the ground before it pops loose or it will move and the right side will jerk and hesitate like it would if a person was stepping on the right brake only. It gives you the thought like the differential gear on the right side is binding.
After you move about 40 ft. all is OK and it will not do it again all day. Any thoughts?

How cold is it where you are could be ice in transmission.Brake actuator springs could be broke causing it to hang up.That is where I would start first.Scott

I'll put my vote in for either ice in the transmission or the brakes are locking up. Either one should be a relatively easy fix.

It's happened in warmer weather also. If it is the brakes I'll have to dig into it. I was around 20 years ago when dad put new pads on it. I don't remember if they are wet or dry brakes. If dry could a grease seal be leaking and cause them to stick?

They're dry. If the seal was leaking, they wouldn't work worth a darned. I'd just take the cover off and blow the brake dust out first. If that doesn't do it,then get in to the actuators. It's not that unusual for them to do it. Blowing them out usually takes care of it.
