Oliver name

What was the last year the Oliver name was ysed on machinery, mostly interested in grain drills. What year was the steel box drill built? Model number? When were the wood box drills built. Still a big demand for the wood box steel wheel models in the 12-8 or 13-7 sizes with smaller ones wanted as well. One comming up at auction probably end of March and auctioner forgot to pay attention if wood or steel box or how many openers, knows it is smaller unit on low rubber. Thought it was older, possibly 20 years. I think it has been longer than that since the Oliver name was used. I buy for the Amish.

The wood box drills were the model 26. I think they were made in the early 1950's yet. For steel box drills are you looking for low or high wheel drills? The model 64 replaced the model 26 drill and the 76 replaced the model 64. Both were sold around here on 20 inch rubber. There was a model 38 steel box on steel several miles from here only one I ever saw, The model 76 drills were the last of the Oliver drills around here maybe in the early 70's, I would need to look.

I have an excellent Oliver steel wheel, wooden box drill think its a 9 spout that was only used to drill a few acres for 2 years back in the early 1940's always stored inside still has the seeding
directions inside the box. What does something like that sell for these days.Looks like the fertilizer box was never used.

Not sure on that size but a 13-7 I am autherised to go to $400 for anything I find depending on condition and then till I deliever to the Amish Machinery jockey and he has to make something so that $00 drill would become a $600 drill. Prefer to be able to stay to $200-$300 at auctions. This is in northwestern Ohio for the Amish just across the state line in Indiana. I think within a 150 mile radious of me you will find 80% of the Amish in the usa. it is usually thought of Pen as the home of the Amish but Ohio has more with Indiana having more than Pen.

Just checked tractor data and it looks like the last tractor to carry the Oliver name was built up to 1975 so I would think that early 70's would be close. Eithere way his thought of 20 years old was way off. I only remember seeing one steel box and it was a 17-7 on 20" rubber. All the rest have been wood box drills that would be in the 60 year old range with the newest Oliver drill being over 35 years old. or double the auctioneeres age estimate. My friend the auctioneer was able only to tell me what his boss that is making out the sale bill told him.

I left the dealer in 76 and the Oliver drills were gone before that. That would have been the model 76. We were starting to handle Melroe drills at that point.
