super 55 brakes

Hope I didn't confuse anyone. The brake that won't go down is the left brake pedal that is on the brake pedal cross shaft the key is holding it up can this be adjusted were the key is moved down so I can rotate the brake pedal down that I can attach the right platform to tractor. Thanks for help.

I don't think so. My son is a mechanical engineer and he put new brakes on it for me and went over the engine he designs the Cummins engine. I am putting it back together my boys have left home and old dad is trying but sure is slow going.

I've never worked on the brakes on a 55 but it about has to be a linkage problem - either damaged or installed incorrectly. The key way is where the key way is. Hard to believe the shaft twisted. Possibly an incorrect shaft? Or were there different pedals?

No not that I'm aware of, I adjusted the screw and nut to drop the brake pedal down but still won't be down enough.

talked to my son last night he was telling the screw on the left side where the clutch was the adjuster was a short one and he forgot to tell me. So I put a longer one in and adjusted it and the brake sides went down find now below the right platform. The you all for your help sure will need your advice later have along way to go.

Talked to my son and he told me tat he had put a short screw in the adjuster on clutch side, put a longer one in this morning now the brake side lowers below the platform find. Want to thank everyone for all your help.
