Found my oil pressure problem

That's interesting. I have the cheap guages too. Maybe I better check it with a good one. I might have stretched the spring and didn't need to.

Seems like 1/4 of the gauges that come from India don't measure correctly. I've got a box of them.....water temp, oil pressure that don't read at all or read wrong.
In some cases I complained to the supplier (ebay sellers) and they sent me another one free of charge.
They do get the low pressure and high pressure gauges mixed up. For example, they sell one oil pressure gauge for all models, when there are low pressure applications as well as higher pressure applications. Olivers and John Deeres in particular. If the gauge reads "L", "M" and "H", or has a scale that isn't numeric, the gauge may be fine but the application is incorrect.

(quoted from post at 19:09:11 01/24/17) I found out it's the problem with the new gauges made in India. I just checked it with another gauge.
to got gauges from India.Same problem.Supplier said they are rated for 0-42 psi.Sent me another to replace it but was the same problem.Never buy them again. This site has the correct gauges.

I bought mine from yesterday's tractor. Hopefully they're right. They did fade very fast.

I think I bought low pressure guages for my s77d. I stretched my spring until my pressure read good. Now I may have very high pressure if my guage is wrong. Will that harm a Waukesha diesel? How about a gasser?

Don't know about your particular model, but....
I bought a IH gauge for my Farmall Super C, which is a typically low pressure engine. The gauge was a high pressure version... in other words it read "low" when 20 psi on a Super C is plenty. I measured it with a Stewart Warner analog gauge I had. Sure enough, hot pressure was more than enough. I finally got the low pressure version, which pegs the gauge when cold and settles to mid/upper mid range when hot.
So if I was in your shoes, I'd borrow a good analog gauge and make sure you didn't set the pressure too high. On a cold motor, too much pressure is not a good thing.

Evergreen restoration has Made in USA gauges with the correct faces and are calibrated. They have yellow face for the fleetline, correct black face for Oliver Hart-Parr , black face for the 950,990 & 995. They just started refacing the gauges for the 4-digit series also. Best is to call them at 715-635-8629
