I have a 1600 Utility gas straight 6 speed and I have a parts White 2-70 with a good diesel engine and 3 speed hyro or what ever its called. What does it take to put the diesel
and 3 speed into the 1600?

Basically will bolt right in. There will be some give and take, on things like radiator, coolers, etc. so take the opportunity to upgrade and use all the 2-70 goodies you can. I put the 3 speed, coolers, power steering, hitch, hydraulics off a 2-70 into a basic 1600 w/ manual steering.. Really makes for a great little tractor.

About a year ago I put the diesel engine from a 1655 into a 1600 Utility gas with the 2-speed Hydra Power. A simple bolt in for that part. You will have to cut new holes in the hood for air intake and exhaust. Linkage and fuel lines have to be modified, but not an impossible job. Biggest problem was getting the pipe plug out of the top of the 1600 fuel tank for the fuel return line. One thing I don't know about is the shifter for the three speed.
