Would anyone know of a better place to buy a new hydraulic pump for my 1650(open center) wheatland. The closest dealer quoted me $960cdn + tax and shipping.
I'm up near dawson creek bc. Seems really steep to me but maybe it is what it is now.
Thanks
Shawn

so i finally got the top cover off my 1650 to see whats going on.( was loosing hydro oil into rear end)
Oil resovoir pan is like new, no holes. gaskets were fine. the seal on the pump looks fine to me but it did come off relativly easy....
i took everything off the cover assembly. flow divider, rear remote valves, oil filter, all the relief valves and springs etc.
found no cracks, or holes. blew air through all the oil passages and no debrie came out. i assume all is good. so do i need a new pump?
i replaced it 5 years ago with a used one. it is the newer replacement style. would the seal be bad? it is the only thing i can think of that would allow any oil into the trans/diff.
what would be your guys thoughts? (also what PSI do these newer style pumps put out?
thanks
Shawn

As a general rule of thumb if the front seal on a gear pump leaks you have either a bad seal or too much internal wear inside the pump. Did you check pump pressure and flow before you took the unit apart?

I did check the pressure awhile back and i think it was around 1800psi... i used the test port beside the main relief.
i have no tool for checking the flow. i didn't find any obstructions in the pump or any passages in the top cover.
this past summer when it did work, it seemed like it was blowing some restrictor valve.. i did install a new seat, poppet and spring and shims in the main relief but that didnt help much for psi. could have been the filter bypass spring or flow divider making the noise.
ill talk to the local hydraulic shop today and see if they can test my pump or not.

so i took my hydraulic pump to my local hydraulic shop and it is garbage. bushings are shot, housing is worn badly..
ill order a new pump from agpartsfirst.
ill try to remember to post when its all back together! thannks for all the imput, much appreciated.

quick question. the new pump that agpartsfirst has comes with a manifold on the presssure side. mine has a hose. i assume the fitting can be removed and the hose attached to it in its place. i phoned and talked to jerry and he said he never came across that before. his number is 30-3062449, and the one i removed is 30-3063062.
