Somebody Save This One

There is 1971 Oliver 1855 gas in the photo adds to be parted out. Claims 'motor was overhauled 10 years ago, with little use since then. 3 speed and hydraulics are both strong. Very nice set of original fenders.'

This would be a great project. Sure wish I had the time, I could probably scrape up the money. Don't let it happen. Someone rescue this beauty!!

I would love to own that one but funds are a little tight at the
moment. I have noticed this person listing tractors in the past
I would not have scrapped. I guess some could have some other
major issue but I don't know. Guess to some it's all about
making money. More money in parts than whole.

It would have to be bought right and then find a 5.9 or an 1850 tub along with a Perkins 354. Assuming it has no other problems. Not much appeal as a gas powered unit goes.

These big gas engines are worth a lot of money to pullers. They will put it in a 88 and have close to 100 hp at minimum cost. Motor is probably worth what he paid for the whole tractor.

We tried to buy one from him in the past. He said he could get more for it in parts than it would bring whole.

Bret, I just checked the Oliver FB site and Brian posted the engine is sold. I check craigslist all the time and haven't found any deals since last year when I found my side panels. Brian catches a lot of flak on FB but that's how he puts food on the table. I have never bought anything from Brian as his stuff usually brings top dollar but have bought from Marty in Bad Ax Michigan. The Michigan parts match up perfect to my grease stained ones, lol.

By the time you advertise pay help Ect. The overhead eats the
profit of parting out a working unit. Its just easier to do than
find a buyer that will pay real money not what people on here pay
for them myself included. Laziness has killed a lot of these.
Nothing more.

Greg, tough living on a budget isn't it? My stash money is down to zero now. I remember you saying you would be 'eatin baloney' to pay for some sheet metal work awhile back. lol

Bret, And now I have 3 Oliver's and a White plus a teenage daughter! Oh well I know the Oscar Meyer song by heart now ,lol. I just had the 77 generator converted to 12 volt that was around $120. The generator that is on it now hits the side panel and Walmart had a good deal on a battery for $48. That 77 is a lot more fun to work on than the skid steer I worked on today! Here is what it looks like now compared to when I got it. Notice the difference in climate change oh one pic is summer and the other winter.lol
