Question for White gurus

A friend is trying to remember what price his uncle would have purchased a new 2-85 w/ MFWD no cab back in 1977. Tractor data gives the price for last year made and is inconsistent as to options such as MFWD and cab. Inflation was pretty steep in the late 1970's and early 1980's so a 1982 price would not tell the whole story. Just as a guess I thought around 18,500 or 19,000 dollars.

I'm thinking you're in the ballpark. In February of 81,I paid $22,500 for a 4040 Deere open station with no ROPS. The White dealer offered me a new 2-105 with a cab with AC and heat for $25,000 at the same time, but with all the upheaval at White at the time,I went with the Deere.

Yeah, I looked at the last year (1975) for the 1755 and saw a list of 11,500 which most likely was a 2WD open station. Figured the 2-85 intro'd in 1976 at 13,000 with 4,500 for MFWD for a total of 17,500 not counting shipping and prep then added a year's worth of inflation. Maybe a discount of 3-4 percent.
