I have what I think is an Oliver super 55 serial number has 63 with a spac then 58-500 specification number 15-5000 can anyone tell me year and any information please

I will try my best to answer your questions.
serial number 63 58-500
spec. number 15-5000
If the space is not a lost or blemished numerical then it is a 1954.
then -500 is the transmission code

15 is the model designation 15 for the early all green, and 25 for the later green with red wheels. The -5000 is addition specs for your tractor.

Its best to contact the Floyd County Museum and have your build card researched for $20 plus s&h at 641-228-1099

Does this make it rare or more collectible and be restored or use it on farm for intent i got it for

The history on them is interesting. Created with the 8N in mind (seriously in mind since Ferguson and Ford split with Ferguson suing Ford for continuing the 8N while Ferguson owned patents on it and being awarded a 9 million judgement) It was rushed in engineering expecting Ford to end the 8N (it didn't) and opening the market for that type of tractor. Production produced a problem with the fans which were replaced (recalled). Produced from 54-58 they didn't sell in large enough quantities to cover cost, the 550 replaced it in 1959. super 55-66-77 were all produced and ended in that time frame.

Seems based on that there shouldn't be many around and if you can determine if that fan wasn't replaced it might add to the value. The design had the fan closer to the radiator. When in operation the tips deflected enough to impact the radiator causing serious damage. New stiffer blades replaced them.

Daughter gave me "Oliver Tractors" "A chief Engineers Account 1940-1970" by Herbert Morrell for Christmas. It's a good read.
