John do you remember if the alternators on the 50 series tractors were on and painted green when the tractors went down the paint line, or put on later and left silver?

The original is still on my 1850. It's green.

Larry: they were green and so were the starters. I see lots of pictures with black starters and they were painted green as well.

I had my starter rebuilt a few years ago. They normally paint them black when they're done. I told them not to since it still had the original green paint on it. The only new tractor I ever bought,even the filters were painted.
