I just got my 1955 Oliver Super 55. It is a 1955, SN 23 434.

This is going to be a project for me. It currently runs and the PTO and 3 point cylinder works, but it has a few issues.

The left side lifting arm attaching pin appears to have been stripped out of the hole. The pin is intact and the threads don't look too badly worn, but it doesn't thread into the hole.

It feels like the hole has a heli-coil in it, I can feel a loose thread in the hole, but haven't had time to investigate further yet. Is it common for these to strip out and be heli-coiled?

It has a Model 588 loader. The loader is currently not attached to the tractor, it is just sitting on top of the front weights. The loader came with a front mount pump and half of a jaw coupler, but I have to find a shaft to attach to the front crankshaft pulley. I have seen adapter plates and shafts for other tractors, but nothing specific to Oliver. I would assume they are the same, but have to get dimensions off my pulley to see if others will fit. Does anyone have any experience with these?

I am exited for a new project and will post pictures and updates as I learn more.

Where are you located? I know a place that probably has the parts or knows where to obtain them. You need to obtain an operators manual for both the tractor and the loader from the museum in Charles City. That loader is newer than the tractor. You have e-mail? J.

Yuma AZ looks beautiful! Anywhere that has palm trees would be great right now. Instead of the BLACK ICE we're getting this morning in Western Maryland. Ugh.

It is beautiful here this time of year. Summers are brutal though. We play all winter and hole up for the summers here.
