1655 Hydraulics poor when tractor hot

Hi Folks - Tried to revive an old post on the same topic but I wasn't allowed..
because I have a similar problem and looking for some insight. On my 1655 Diesel Cockshutt, (only had the tractor for about 3 years), this problem is steadily getting worse.. I have not done anything
except check and add fluid. (The tractor does not get hardly any hours at all, except snow-blowing season) When the tractor is cold, hydraulics work very well (3PH, Remotes and Steering), but as the tractor
warms up from working it, I need to rev the RPMs up very high to get the 3PH to lift or the remotes to work. I'm pretty sure I'm going to need to bust into the hydraulic system, (which is not in my comfort
level) so if anyone has any specific ideas or common causes that I should be looking for, I would be greatly appreciative..

Thanks
PS - I am using HyTran fluid. (Other thread's post mentioned measuring oil temperature... What should the temperature be? ...and if too hot, what might cause this?)

Does the 3pt settle when it's shut off or bounce a little when the oil gets hot? My 1550 was doing that on the 3pt hay rake. The oil was getting hotter than it should have because the O-ring in the cylinder was bad and leaking by. The hotter it got,the more the problem exacerbated. I put a new o-ring in it,the oil stopped over heating and the problem pretty much went away.

Thanks rrlund
The 3pt does drop when sitting... Not quickly... but if it sits overnight it will be down from where I left it. (I don't think this was the case when I first got the tractor. I think it held much better a couple years ago)
I haven't noticed the "bouncing" you speak of, but it might be happening?

The problem you had with the O-Ring..... Are you referring to a ring on the main 3PH "cylinder"? And if so, would this have affected the Remotes as well?

Just a little more info - With the 3PH and tractor at a standstill, I see the same symptoms with the remote - a 3" or 4" cylinder to spin my blower chute... When hot, it wont hardly budge it unless I rev up the tractor. When cold - it will spin 180 degrees in less than a second at low or moderate rpm.

Thanks

O. K. Need more details here. Find yourself a 3000 PSI gauge and check the pressure at one of the remotes. Tell us what you have cold and then when the unit is hot. Do you have access to a candy or a meat thermometer? If so check the temperature. Post your e-mail address as well. J.

OK - Will do. Might take me a day or 2 to round up the fittings for a pressure gauge but luckily I do have a thermometer. I wont steal the wife's or it will end badly. (like the time I put the Carburetor in her dishwasher. :)
