Using epoxy primer and hardener. It sure takes a lot more paint when you strip a tractor down and paint most of the pieces individually. The primer was Matrix brand and the green I use is PPG Omni acrylic enamel. When you tear them down this far you want to do them right. Hope to get the rearend housing and the tub green today. Still think the 50 series Olivers were the best looking tractors ever made. I am very fortunate that my buddy who has been a body man for 50 years does all my painting. I do all the mechanical work, blasting, cleaning, and prepping. When he comes to my place all he has to do is mix his paint and shoot it. He does all the individual smaller stuff and sheet metal at his place. I don't know what I do without him.

There ya go, just like at the factory on the assembly line sometime in '68-'69 I guess. What media did you blast it with?

The trans tub I used a knotted wire brush. The axle housing use black slag, the small parts I used silica sand in my blast cabinet and the tub black slag. I think I wore out 2 cup brushes and
myself on trans rearend housing.
