I'm looking for a bearing set for the lower steering shaft in the pedestal of a 77 tricycle front end. I found one a little thicker, but would like to find the right one.The one AGCO shows is no longer available. Larry at Motion Ind,s is looking for me, but hasn't had any luck so far. The one I found at NTN is the right ID, OD, but almost a quarter of a inch thicker, which I don't think will work.

Is Detroit Ball Bearing still down there on the access road along 131? They used to be just north of Ann Street on the east side. I've got some pretty odd stuff from them. Even some bearings that were standard on the shaft and metric on the outside. It's been a while since I was down there though,so I don't know if they're there anymore or not.

No, They moved out. They is another place on the South side, that I went on their web site that shows nothing close.

Part number is 1KS5018, per AGCO page.

That is a rounded taper bearing When we did one I think Napa could get it but it was very expensive we changed it to a regular taper bearing

Look it up on a 70 Jack. The whole front end looks different, different hubs and all,but I found out the wheel bearings are all the same. I couldn't find outer bearings for my 77 this spring, but just for the heck of it,I checked this 70 front end I have here and the wheel bearings, inner and outer were the same. If the bearing you need is the same,I've got that front end here yet. Kinda cold to mess with it right now,but it's not going anywhere.

1ks5018 subs up to part numbers 983367, and 983368 both still available from Agco.
983367...bearing, about $60.00
983368....bearing cup, about $35.00
Hope this helps?

WOW. Thanks to all you guy's. That sure made it easy. Once I got the Timken number, I now have the bearing and seal coming from locateballbearing.com.

Thanks Randy for the offer of your's too.

Lessen bearings in Charles City Iowa is great at bearings. They are also Oliver collectors. Google Charles City bearings. Or call 641 228 3347
They know most Oliver bearings and also sell i.e.:quad ring sets and all seals, most are in stock and they always ship the same day.
