1850 roller chain part 2

Randy was right! [as usual] I got the chain from Maibachs yesterday and had it on in an hour or less[and I don't do things like this quickly] It was really pretty easy. The worst thing is it may be a few days before I know whether it works or not. I drained the diesel tank to replace the water drain valve and it hasn't been delivered yet. Anyway the gears looked ok to me. The chain I took off had 2 stiff links that didn't want to flex and it didn't have the long cotter pin just 2 short ones. As soon as I try it out I will post the results, hopefully good. Thanks for the help! Lee

Hey! Hey! The valve came today and we got it on. I started it up and drove it around for a while and no tick! Hopefully this has her fixed. Thanks again, Lee

When I bought my first 1850 over 40 years ago, the dealer told me to lube the chain every month or so with WD 40 or any other spray lube. The chain needs to be free to move. Chris
