Ballistic wieght

I'm looking at 3 Oliver's. 88,1755 and 1850. He wants to sell them for a little more than scrap. Reading on tractor data it lists ballasted wieght. So is the ballasted wieght with calcium added or just cast wieght?

You are better off finding shipping weight. Ballistic weight is the weight of the tractor as tested at the tractor test. You need to find out tire sizes, what wheel options and other options as that all adds into shipping weight.

Just get the seller to set a price per ton and weigh them. With iron prices being low, there is no way you can loose. Just my opinion.

I will go with tractor data's light weight and go from there. It's hard to tell how much weight is in the tires.

You also posted about a TD-6 you have. Make sure you know how to shut the engine down properly so you don't warp the starting valves and have to pull the head. Head gaskets for a 6 series engine are getting a little harder to find last I looked Question? Post an e-mail J.

I always try to switch it to gas when I shut it down. It usually doesn't work. I then put the compression release forward or in diesel mode. It needs some tuning. It is way over due to be ran. I try to run it every 3-6 months to keep turning brakes free. I hope I never have to tear them apart again.
Your email is closed. Thanks for the input.

Make sure after you run it on gas and you shut it off, flip the handle so it is back on diesel so the starting valve are on their seats otherwise they will warp. E-mail should be there this time. J.
