So bought a motor that I thought was a 310 sitting in a 1850 gas. I can not make heads or tails of my block numbers which are 166425a 221620 9248 at the rear of the block and 163892 by the alternator bracket. The crank casting number is 221211. From what I am told I got a 283. I was also told the only difference is the crank and the pistons? Is this true? is the head and everything else what would have also been in a 310 motor?
