Hi, i got generator and regulator problem, so, i want to convert my tractor to alternator. Is someone got the good wiring? i already have my self regulate alternator but i am not sure how to plug the new alternator.

This is for a common 3 wire Delco internal regulated alternator.

Remove Generator and regulator. According to 550 diagram I have this should leave a Red charge wire from regulator BAT connection. It goes to output of alternator.

Diagram shows a yellow wire from the regulator L terminal. This feeds power to light switch. Attach it to alternator output.

Diagram shows a purple wire from the generator armature to indicator light on dash. Connect the armature end to the #1 edge terminal on alternator.

Connect #2 edge terminal on alternator to output stud.

Alternator will be negative ground, so -- on coil goes to distributor and connect battery negative ground.

This is a Delco alternator with internal regulator

If your tractor was originally positive ground, the smaller + post on coil went to distributor and -- went to ignition switch. These are reversed for negative ground
