HI! new to the forum here, seen this site many times and finally became a member.
Couple of questions for those in the know. I have just purchased a white 2-60 FWA with loader. Now the paint is peeling off the chassis in places and green Oliver paint is underneath. The dash serial number plate says Oliver 1365, and the serial number points to it being a 1973 or so model (can't remember the number right now). It seems to me that know one would paint an Oliver to look like a white (just why). Old stock Oliver that White motor company re-painted when they turned into the 2-60 in 1976?
Second question. It seems to have an extended crank time before starting and does have some white smoke when running. It does need new filters and a injector pump return line leak repaired. Doesn't make sense that the return line leak could be introducing air into the system to cause this cranking problem. Could I be looking at a compression issue? tractor does have a lot of hours near 10000.
Thanks.
