I am in the process of taking a loader off of a 1955 Super 55 my dad and I just picked up and installing it on a 1964 550. It worked great on the 55 other than the manual steering. It was plumbed in to the tractor hydraulics drawing the pressure from the 1/4" pipe plug in the three bolt cover on the side, and the return hooked in to the 3/8 pipe plug adjacent facing toward the front. My problem is that on the 550 I cant get any pressure out of the 1/4" port.. Maybe 100psi at any rpm. The manual shows that is where to test and it should be 1500 or possibly 1700 depending on age. The three point however, seems to lift fine. I want to put on my 550 lb counterweight tomorrow to see how it lifts but I have a feeling it will as the tractor has always lifted fine in the past and worked fine up til today. Am I missing something? Anyone have any ideas? Also, the fluid level is ok, using aw46 hydraulic fluid... Thanks in advance!
