129 Haybine

I just picked up a 129 Haybine from a salvage yard. Brought it home pounded & welding some sheet metal faults. Fixed a couple odds & ends and next day ran 4 acres of clover through it. Basically I am looking for a good parts manual (Maibach doesn't have a book to find part numbers), a new set of lift cables & tin. If anyone somewhat near Sandusky, Ohio has a good parts unit I am looking for replacement sheet metal, I might even be interested in whole machine for the right money. Any comments, opinions, or thoughts are welcome on the topic (The model itself, personal experiences or parts leads).
Thanks
Mike

Well a year or so ago a man in the UP was looking for parts for one. Oliver did not make that unit. I think Ottumwa was the manufacture of those units. I think Ford also sold the same thing. Call the museum and see if they have a book.

Okay will do, I heard somewhere else they were made by a outside company. Does anyone know the company that would be possibly in control of parts today?
Thanks
Mike

We cut many acres with a 129 in the 1970's. It was a good reliable machine that crimped the hay. I don't remember ever plugging that machine. It was built by Owatonna in Minnesota. Owatonna also marketed one that seemed to be identical except for the paint color scheme. In the summer of 2016 one was advertised on Craigslist that had very little use and was stored in a central Wisconsin barn for many years.

Owatonna dis make there own (several models) but could have been model 200 or 208 209 also made a few for ford I believe
All machines were the same just painted different. You might look for an old OMC (owatonna) dealer. They might be of some help.
