Agco in Louisiana

Well Agco finally shut down their last dealer in Louisiana, Plaquemine. What is the deal with these fools? do they not like to sell????? I have to order all my Oliver filters from up north now and pay high shipping. This crap is making no sense. I understand they want to save money by having fewer dealers but to have none???

Did Agco pull their contract,or did the owners just throw in the towel? We had one small dealer here that lost their contract last year because the owner died and his name was the only one on the contract, plus they're not more than a dozen miles from a larger dealer in a better location. We had a new larger Agco super center start up even closer to home about three years ago though. Been getting fantastic service from them. I just can't see Agco pulling the contract from the last dealer in the state without something that nobody's talking about happening behind the scene with that dealer.

Also they give me a number to call a massey dealer in Mississippi. when I called they said they couldn't get oliver filters only Massey. Sounded to me like a lazy counter guy because some friend of mine in Ohio (Who is an AGCO Dealer) told me that any agco dealer is linked in to Oliver inventory

Have been using a Massey dealer for Minneapolis Moline and Oliver parts the last couple years, and they sold Allis Chalmers before that. I call with part numbers though, they even will search for hard to find parts and get then to their door. No complaints!!! This is in Nebraska.

The new one's in Ionia Michigan, about 15 miles from me. Agco pulled the contract from a little old former Oliver dealer in Bannister Michigan, but there's a lot bigger former AC dealer that's been in Chesaning Mi for a lot of years just a dozen miles away. We have one in Charlotte Mi that was AC,and another former Oliver dealer that's pretty big in Fremont Mi. The new one in Ionia started as a Challenger dealer, then took on Fendt,Terra Gator,Row Gator and finally became a full line Agco dealer and started putting new Masseys on the lot and Massey on the sign out front. They want all the business they can get and have been bending over backwards getting Oliver and White parts for me.
Lots of choices around here. More than any other brand in all honesty.

It has to be just the attitude of the parts guy behind the counter. I put a new clutch in my Fiat built Oliver 1365 in July. There are two choices for the throw out bearing for it. I figured maybe the auto parts store in town could get me the right one if I took the old one in and let Jeff measure it and get the number off it.
He measured it and couldn't come up with a Timken number, but he was able to use the Timken cross reference chart to come up with an Agco number from the measurements.
I called Tom at Farm Depot, the new Agco dealer and gave him that number. He said it wasn't coming up as an Agco number, but he said he'd call Agco tech support and call me right back. He called me back and said yep,it's a good number. We just had to put an H on the front of it,it's on its way.
So they have the means to find anything you need, they just have to have the motivation to do it.

Well,I know a guy in Tennessee who uses Maibach Tractor in Creston Ohio and has parts shipped. Obviously I can't say enough good about Farm Depot in Ionia Michigan. Either one would just have the parts drop shipped to you from the Agco warehouse.

Ya,for a while there,it was best to use a dealer that used to sell whatever brand you were wanting parts for,but over the years, they've got their act together and treat everything as Agco instead of the old brand name.

The Massey dealer in Mississippi may not have bought the license to sell Oliver parts.

I have used Cards in Chesaning,MI but not for several years. They used to be an Oliver dealer and were able to get anything I needed. It just seems like sometimes it is easier to pay for shipping!

If you have to order many filters at all, order from fleet filter.com I think they're out of Texas.they sell Napa (Wix) filters, you just have to have the numbers to look up. Comparing side by side with an AGCO filter, they're identical other than the logo printed on them. Wix makes the filters that we would purchase from AGCO, and many others.

Donovan from Wisconsin

They were an Allis dealer in the beginning. I bought my 2-105 and 2-135 from them. I'm no stranger there, but they're 50 miles away. Hofferbert was closer. The new Farm Depot in Ionia is even closer yet.
