1600 oliver hydraulic issues.

I am losing hydraulic oil an I am assuming it is the pump and it is leaking into the rear differential How do I know if I have a gear type pump or a vane? Also is there a re build kit out there or do I have to buy a replacement pump? Is there some sort of break in the serial numbers that will give me this information out there would be helpful. It is a 1964 1600 utility I am working on. Thanks for any advise and or help.

1600 tractors were not built at the factory with the vane type pump, however there was a package available to convert to the vane pump in the 1968, 69 period.   Your tractor could have had the package installed.   From experience, I doubt it would still be running!

The vane pump has a square shape vs the gear is rounded in shape.
