Just picked up a 4-150 this weekend at an auction. Dont think I did to bad, only had to give 5 for it and it has eight decent to good tires on it that are 80% or better tread so I figured I bought a set of tires and got a tractor for free. They had it listed as a 74' and I was just wondering if they were correct. SN is 246-781-403 and Model Number is 126-82121. It would be kinda cool if it was a 74' since that would make it a first year 150. Whoever bought it back in the day must have had some money because it is all optioned out. Heat/AC, factory radio, three point, pto, and cast iron inner and dual rims all the way around. The cast iron duals were the biggest reason I bought it, she is weighted for some serious tillage work. Needs some TLC but that old 3208 runs like a top and carries good oil pressure so there is plenty there to work with.

Another thought:  It will be a dog in the field, take a lot of power to just move it through the field with those heavy wheels.   I have drained a lot of fluid out of tires on those tractors to get performance.   A lot of dealers thought all rear tires needed fluid, so just put it in all of em.

A guy that has me work on some of his stuff has one of them, has all those options except the duals are steel, he wants to sell it to me for 6,500, that is what he bought it for and he don't use it since his farm is in CRP. It has been repowered with a 3208 from a terra gator, and the motor says 210 horse on it, I don't know much about the 3208s is this the same as what it came with or a different version of the 3208.

I think the 3208 motors were a fairly good engine, later ones with the 3 ring pistons espically. Not made to run hard day and night, don't continually lug them, there more or less a light duty truck engine. I have one in my 4-150, another in 4-210 with turbo, so far minimum of problems

We picked up a similar tractor about 3 years ago for around 4. Guy had purchased it at an local auction and he still made a 20% return. Fixed a few leaks, put a battery disconnect on it and for now we are going with the wiring harness some one made. It should really be redone. With the 8 wheels, we just let her purr pulling our big disk or deep ripper. I remind my guys to take it easy and let it do the work. Best part is she doesn't even get bogged down in the wet spots. We will be rebuilding the pto this winter and maybe looking at taking some of the wear out of the steering linkage. Otherwise no complaints on the cheap hp.

Awesome. Many pics are mandatory. The White 4x4s got a bad rap when they were oversold and treated like 250 hp tractors and not 150 hp tractors. White was behind on hp on those tractors with each new model they brought out.

That being said it is now an old tractor. You would be wise to treat it like a 125 hp tractor and take it easy on the old girl. I try to follow the same idea with my 1978 Steiger Wildcat ST210 with the same Cat 3208.
