2-85,105 cab to open

If somebody has a 2-85 or 105 with a junk cab and wants to change it to an open platform, one of the local scrap yards had a 2-105 come in. I bought the wide front out of it,steering cylinder, tires and wheels, the whole works for $200. I asked if they'd take another $20 for the seat suspension and got it. I'll use it to replace the old style seat on my 1600.

I asked about the fenders, platform and console. He said he'd take $40 for all of it. I told him I didn't need it,but I'd post it on here in case anybody else did. I hooked up a link to the contact info. The fenders aren't great, but it's a good place to start with a conversion.

The engine has an injector out,so I would imagine that's full of water, but the Over/Under's in it. I cut the lines to the cooler to get the radiator out and the oil looked good and clean. I wish I had the whole thing here to part out,but if there's anything there that anybody needs, take your own tools and get what you need.

It's a shame I am so far away in Canada. I need an over under drive for parts for my 2-105. The input shaft and over drive clutch plates and separator plates for sure and maybe more once it's apart. Mine slips in over drive but seems ok in under and direct drive.

Hope someone can get this O/U before it's demolished. Maybe it still has some life in it.

Glad you got what you needed rrlund.

Any suggestions for a good parts source for mine will be greatly appreciated.

This one's in Michigan,not Canada.

I'm awful tempted to go back and get those open platform parts myself and ask about the steering hydromotor too. I couldn't turn the steering wheel, but the shaft is just rusted up I'm sure. I'm tempted to try to pull that engine and save the O/U too,and maybe the hydraulic pump. I'd like to have an O/U in my 1850,but that's a trunion coupler on the 105 and a chain coupler on the 1850. The thing to do would be to bolt my front half to that rear end.

I got that axle put under the 1600 today. Turned it in to a whole lot better loader tractor. This one's set way in instead of way out. It's got the welded center brace like my 2-135 instead of the round one with the nuts on the front. The last picture shows what it looked like with the original axle. It was awful hard on spindles and wheel bearings.
