Oliver 88 RC Wide Front End

The front end on my 88 is getting wore out. It has play in two places, at both ends of the "wishbone" where they go in the pockets in the axle. And at the center pivot for the axle. You can grab the front wheels and roll them front and back a considerable amount. I was wondering about how one goes about tightening this back up I don't really wanna trash the front end for a new one. Maybe some welding, machining & bushing will correct the issue?
Thanks
Mike

The center pivot has a bronze bushing in it, this can be replaced, it is a longer bushing that what most bearing supply houses have but you can use two, cheaper than stock. where the wishbone goes thru the axel housing is a bit harder, it too can be shimmed with thin steel but is usually worn front and back and not in the center. you can drill it out and add a bushing here too.

(quoted from post at 21:40:22 09/14/16) you can weld the wishbone with no problem, been there done that, chuck
By weld the wishbone you are saying weld it up & have it turned down? Or do you mean weld the wishbone to the axle collars?

Mike, I welded mine to the collar on the back and inside and put the nut back on, it's been that way for years with no problem, just make sure it is in the right position before welding. Chuck
