880 hydra power

My 880 has a hydra power and it seems to work but it has a filter on it, some kind of update. But when I changed the filter there was no oil getting pumped thru the filter. Is this a serious problem? I'm just not sure.

Are you sure about this filter? An update for an 880 where a filter was added would be a lube pump for the transmission not the power booster!. Yes I would check into the problem, they did not come out with the pressure lube for no reason. More questions? J.

Maybe it is the transmission and not Power booster. Yeah one oil line come from where the drain plug should be for the transmission and I have no idea where the other one goes. I assume the tractor has to be running for it to have pressure

Pump is located on the front of the transmission and is driven by the countershaft in the transmission.   It pumps oil to a collector ring that is around the input shaft to lube the low range gear.

There were 2 kits and you have the late kit. You had to split the tractor to install that kit. Did you check the transmission oil level?

Yes when I changed the transmission fluid it was over full and looked like there was water mixed with it. So I put 10-30w and a oil additive

Did you remove the drain plug with the line on it to drain the transmission. When new there was a screen on the inside of the transmission. Maybe it became plugged or damaged. More questions?

My 880 had the filter. The pump was on the front left of the transmission housing. Mine had a gerotor type pump that was bad. I was able to get a new gerotor from AGCO. I also had the front cover of the pump surfaced at a shop as it had quite a bit of wear on it. Worked great after that. I also rebuilt the power booster at the same time. I can not remember if you could get the pump apart with it in or not. Removing the power booster and re installing it took a special alignment tool my local dealer borrowed me.

so you didn't have to split the tractor just remove engine and power booster to get to the pump. where do I find Agco dealer? in Minnesota. what state were you in

That is correct, you had to split it to put the kit in for repair work in that area just remove engine and power booster.

I'm in Minnesota. Judson imp in rural Lake crystal is the dealer I got the parts from. You might not even have to take the power booster out to work on the pump. I can't remember. The Sprag clutch was out on mine so i had it out at the time any way.
