Cockshutt 40 50 Transmission Ratos

I have a 40 Cockshutt that I have been pulling. I just bought a 50 over the weekend. On tractordata.com it shows different ground speeds for the 40 & 50. Are they different ratios or was it because of the 40's on 38" rears and the 50's were as a rule on 34" rears. Been around them all my life but always thought the engine was the only difference. Thanks

I believe the 4th and 6th gears had some variations in the number of teeth. For the gear TG-10233 the parts book says it has 33-23 teeth I've found some with 33-25 and for TG-10236 it says has 40 teeth and I've found some with 38. The tire/rim size can also come to play. For this you would have to look at the overall OD of the tire.
