1255 Hi-Crop oil psi

I recently bought a 1255 hi-crop out of California that a friend had owned for many years. When I got it here I serviced all the fluids and filters. Now if I let it sit for more than a couple days without starting it it loses prime on the engine oil and I show no psi. If i pull the filter and pour some oil down the filter base put the filter back on it then has oil pressure and light goes out as it should. Has any one had issues like this. Thanks Mike

I believe you might have the wrong filter. Some have a built-in check valve in them. Or yours isn't working. It's also
called an anti-drainback valve.
