I have several Hercules military engines. I would sell you a whole complete engine for $500.00.

All the Hercules engines in the tractors were 478 cu. in. The military Ld-465 is actually 478 cu. in. A few of the Military engines were 427 cu. in.

I read somewhere that the L stands for liquid cooled, the d stands for diesel, the 4 stands for 4 stroke, the 6 stands for 6 cylinder and I can't remember what the 5 stood for.
 
I live in Salem, Ohio which is in North Eastern Ohio.

I just want to make sure that you know that these are military engines and they don't have the proper manifolds or water pump for a tractor but I will definitely sell you one.
 
I would like to have a LDS-465-1(AorD). Yes I know that the intake/exhaust front cover water pump and injector pump will need work. The LDS-465-1A or 1D, should be a rear sump engine with the piston oil cooling. One of the part numbers on the engine tag should be 11610187 (LDS-465-1A)

I don't think I have any lds-465. Mine are all ld-465. They do have the piston cooling but they have the front sump. The oil pan can be mounted on either way but the rear sump would require a different oil pickup.
