Super 88 stuck in front shift group

All my Oliver's can be difficult to get between shift patterns. My 88 is stuck in the forward one. Any suggestions before I start pulling it down?

When my 77 did that I took the rail detent block apart and re-drilled the block for larger balls, shifted fine after that. The block was worn enough the original balls would jam and not lift out of the rail groove.

thank-you. Looks like I will have to tear it down or run it the way it is.
I pulled the shifter out and could not see anything wrong. Put it back in and was as to force it past but I don't think I should put that much pressure on it.

OH BOY! The first thing is to take the shifter out and get a little pry bar and bump the center shift rail in position. It may go a long time before you need to do that again. You have e-mail or a phone number.

it shifts j. It's just very difficult to get between ranges. Tried to pm you bug it's disabled. Can I get to the detents without tearing it down? My manual says to pull the front shaft. Might be a winter project.

Does the tractor have a belt pulley gear box on it. How about if I P M you? No belt pulley you can do it in an afternoon.

Well now while you are that far you might as well check the clutch too. Open your e-mail and I will P M you. I also answered you on the multiple reverse transmission.

Can someone tell me where the detents are located? Is there away to get extra lube on them without tearing it down?

You need to pull the PTO. the hydraulic unit and the pulley gearbox. You will also need to remove the sheetmetal and the fuel tank and fold the instrument panel. That is why I said while you are there check the clutch. More questions? You can do it in a day.

Thank you j. I will need to do some work on the hydraulics to but first I need to free up the levers and go from there. I probably won't get to it for awhile.

Get your hydraulic unit repaired first before you ruin the pump! Just pop the gear shift back in place and use it! It may be a long time before it does it again! Questions post a phone number! J.

Thanks J. That will be the next project. I have not owned the tractor long. Both hydraulic handles do not move.
As far as trans goes the shifter doesn't pop out. It is just very hard to get between ranges.
