Cockshutt 40/50 interchangable parts???

I just picked up a 50 last weekend and I know of a 40 thats available so Im wondering if the two share many parts, obviously the engine is differant but what about the tranny, wheels...whatever. I looked on tractordata.com but theres limited info on there. Anyone know?

Everything will interchange,engines are the same except the 50 has the 273 with no sleeves.Nice looking old 50.

Thx TF, thats just what I was hoping to hear. Im told this 40 has tranny problems but by his description I think it might just be a bent/broken shift fork.

I am looking at the picture of your tractor , and trying to imagine how high the
loader bucket would be , when the loader is fully lifted. Knowing that the tub frame
of the tractor is about three feet off the ground to start with . I will bet it has
an impressive reach .

Went and picked it up today so its safely on the home turf... no the fun part begins.LOL

wont know how it can reach until I get it running, hopefully that wont be long

I stopped and looked at the 40 yesterday.... crappy rattle can paint job on it but tires are near new, and power steering??? Could that be a factory add on or just some makeshift mod that some ones added? It has a pump running off the rear PTO.

I have one on a Cockshutt 570 diesel with a loader like that and it'll go way higher than you want to go with much weight in the bucket
