Oliver 1600

We did good with the 1600 models. I will tell you we sold more diesel 1600's than gas tractors. Overall they were trouble free. When they were new the 1600 gas tractors had a 3-1/2 inch bore. Later on they went to a 3-5/8 inch bore engine. There are other changes in them as well. Post a serial number and I can tell you more about the changes. I would like to talk to you more about the Fiat models. If you have questions post back

I've got a 1600 and a 1550. Big differences are the 1550 has an alternator, three position tilt steering, small steering wheel, better seat suspension and a full set of gauges. Otherwise it's hard to find a dimes worth of difference. In all honesty,I'd rather drive the 1550. All of the above make it a more comfortable ride.

I agree. We traded in a number of 1600 tractors where we put the late style seat like on a 50 series tractor as well as the smaller steering wheel.

I haven't seen the 1600 in person but it appears to be a standard with the smaller rear tires, probably bring more than I want to spend and don't need another gasser but it'd be nice to have around.

My 1600 had the steering converted back in the early 80's when the original hydramotor went out. I wouldn't mind having an oil and amp gauge, but I guess the lights work ok. Until the oil sending unit starts to leak again.....
