1650 steering

I am a Oliver novice. My recently acquired 1650 diesel, narrow front, quit steering. There is a link attached to the steering motor, guess
that's what you call it, it broke and I welded it back together and I can't see a way to get it back where it goes without some major
disassembly. Also, the front bearings are out. The housing that the steering shaft goes through is rubbing on the hubs. The top bearing is
shot. So, do I need to take apart the whole front end, maybe put on a wide front? If I change to a wide front, what all needs to be with the
axle? Thanks for any help.
