The Oliver X0-121 tractor went visiting last weekend. The tractor was part of the show in Fredericksburg, IA as part of the NE Iowa Antique Engine & Power Show. The club was hosting the Iowa Cornbelt Chapter of the Hart-Parr/Oliver Collectors Association. We spent a few hours there on Saturday, it was a great show and the weather was perfect. Lots of Oliver green. Dean Tjaden gave a program after the dinner Saturday night. Dean said he had a great response from the audience with questions and remarks. Thanks for having us there.

I believe that one, is the ONLY one, am XO-
121. I believe it had a modified Buda diesel
head on it, and some other stuff, but had a
12:1 compression ratio (hence XO121) and was
a gas burner. I have an article around
somewhere, I believe it was quite fuel
efficient and powerful for the CI's it had.

It is a Hercules block, however Oliver cast different heads for it with different designed combustion chambers. It became the prototype design for the 1800 A series engines.

Hi thanks very much for the video link I really enjoyed it once it got past the carnival.

Why not use an Oliver/Waukesha engine for this test or prototype? When Hercules Engines bought and became part of the White Company; few new models used these engines. One would think Hercules Engines would have been used in every model. Just a thought.

Everything I have seen on it said it was a 198 cubic inch
engine. Perhaps a diesel block and crank? D198 Hercules?

glad you liked our show to bad you were not there sunday. we combined that field of oats with our 18 combine and baled the straw
with our 60 baler then we worked the field a few hours later.
