That's a neat photo, is it your machine and tractor?   It is basically a 8600 machine.   As I recall we had a concern with the gearbox at the back end of the PTO shaft, it was a 90 degree box which made the joint work hard and failed some input shafts.   Later machines had a 120 degree gearbox so that the input shaft lined up with the PTO shaft.

I think it's a 90 deg box. I'm working on fitting a 704N to it for this fall. Hopefully that doesn't stress the joint too much.

How would you like to run some weedy oats with it? Mine got away from me and is infested with ragweed and lambs quarter. I sure wish I had a pickup for the 7300 so I could lay it down and let it dry out before I try to run that mess through.

At the freeport ill show a guy had a 7701,7721,6601,45,95 and others all pull type versions of John deere self propelled combines. I'm hoping I got the numbers right I've never seen one before and from what I heard he is only missing a couple. It's amazing to me that they even produced them.

It's my tractor and combine. It doesn't seem to take much power. I'm guessing maybe 60 hp load for the most part.

Here you go. The 42 had a 24-5/8 inch cylinder width. The cylinder width of the 45 was 26 inches The width of the 65 cylinder was 30 inches, the 96 was 40 inches and the 105 is listed as having a 50 inch cylinder. All were 22 inches diameter.
