hey guys my cockshutt 2150 has a thousand pto shaft right now if I want 540 do I just take out the shaft and turn it around for 540 like a john deere as i see the is a snap ring holding shaft in

If your tractor has a dual speed pto, it's stamped on the back of the housing, along with instructions on which way the shifter goes for 1000/540. In for 1000, out for 540. Shafts are not the same, you don't turn it around, you take the 1000 out, put the 540 in, shift it, and visa versa. Your tractor is a 1969 with light duty rear axles.

thanks a lot mitch that means there was only 38 of those model tractors built right? and only 14 if it was a 68? wonder how many are actually still in one piece and running should be a rare find then

guess I don't have dual speed weird they wouldn't have made them all the same they only made 38 in 69 lol of the fwa
