1850 rear axle leak

My 1850 has developed a serious oil leak on the right rear axle, the inside of the wheel is covered with oil. I'm guessing the outer axle bearing is going out and took the seal out also. Can I get away with taking the wheel and hub off and remove the outer bearing and seal or do I have to take the cab off, fender tank, pto unit and the bull gear to get the axle out to replace the bearing?? Since I have to replace the outer bearing and seal, would it be wise to replace the inner bearing also??? This isn't a high use tractor, maybe 50 hours/year. Thanks, Chris

on my 1750 the left axle was leaking. Jacked it up and bearings were tight. Found out when I took it apart that the felt seal held enough moisture through the years that it rusted out the metal shell of the seal. So all I had to do was remove the wheel hub, and the outer bearing retainer, pop a new seal in and away I went.
