I just bought a 1976 white 2-105-new 20.8 8 ply firestone 23 degree, 50 hrs. On complete rebuild ( everything new but block and crank) new fronts, cab air and heat works great, 5335 hrs on working tach, $11,000.
Has a 540 pto. How do you tell if it can be changed to 1000 rpm?

Lower at the lower right rear corner of the PTO housing. There will be a rail that you move to shift from 540 to 1000 RPM. If there is no rod in that opening you have a single speed unit. That rod is threaded so you can put a bolt in the hole to act as a handle and on the bottom there is a locking bolt too.

I need a few parts for the inside of cab, ie. vent louvers for the ac unit, and the blower only works on high. I don't know if the problem in the 3 speed motor or if it has a relay system, or a fuse for each speed wire. where is the best on line parts location?

Sounds like you found a really nice condition tractor that should give you years of great service. Congratulations!

I'm in the process of rebuilding a 75 2-105 to get it into a similar condition. Paid $6500 Cdn which I think was a little high considering it needed an overhaul but still a nice straight tractor with excellent rubber. Even after the overhaul and by doing the labour myself it will be a cheap tractor compared to todays prices.

Will have to check and see if mine has the 2 speed PTO. Thanks for the advice John.

On the cab fan, it has one fuse or maybe its a circuit breaker for high, and one for the other two speeds

Either the switch is bad, or the blower motor was wired wrong or is bad. Replacing it all should be a sub $120 venture for parts.

As far as the vent grills, best bet is to find a tractor recycling company and ask them. Probably the best way.
