Trying to get a 1650 down to as light as possible to haul it.Its a 1650 Wheatland diesel with PTO and hydraulics and am going to put pressed steel wheels on the back with 14.9 X 38 tires.No weights
no fluid.
What do you all figure it'll weigh?

My 1650 diesel row crop with over-under 3 speed, 18.4x38 tires on pressed steel 16" rims, 3 point still on, regular fenders, wide front, 1/3 tank of fuel, and no front or rear weights weighs 7,250#.

This is a real strange thought but if I guy filled the tires with helium would it make the tractor lighter? To much time by the air conditioning but it makes you wonder.

Would reduce the downward force of the tractor on the trailer. So, would reduce the vertical load on the tires and springs of the trailer/truck. But would not appreciably reduce the mass of the tractor. So, would not reduce the amount of work the engine/brakes of the truck/trailer would have to do.

I've wondered how much it would lighten the rear on a tractor to fill the tires with Helium when I was tractor pulling to get a borderline tractor in a lighter weight class.

fluids=60 lbs.
any tin including fenders= 150 lbs.
3 point attachments= 50 lbs.
battery/case= 35 lbs.
each rear tire= 400 lbs. I have an extra set and would guess 300 each, they are without the rims (duals)

Effort to reduce weight= maybe more than I'd care to do. :) I'm sure a place that sells and installs tractor tires could say.
